Highlight of my day

This morning you woke up at 5am. I was trying to get to work early because I'm woefully behind. I went into your room to find you standing in your crib. I know all you needed was the beloved pasi to go back to sleep. So, there I am, crawling on all fours feeling around in the dark on the floor looking for pasi. Ah... found it. I handed it to you and you rolled over and went back to sleep.

On to the shower (5:05am). After getting out of the shower, you were awake again. Not sure why you are waking up so early? Bad dream? Yucky diaper? Daddy was in there with you in his arms. He needed to brush his teeth, so he handed you to me. To freshen you up with a new diaper, I flicked on the light... and you shook your head back and forth and squeezed your eyes shut, so I knew you still wanted to sleep. I shut off the light, picked you up and you gave me a big hug (sigh :)) and pointed at something. I think you were looking for Oscar (our dog). But, I didn't want you to wake up too much. So we rocked and I rubbed your head and back. Ellie, this is the best part of my day. To feel your little body resting on my chest is the best. I could feel you start to relax, and your muscles twitched to tell me you were falling back to sleep.

To rock you for those 10 minutes at 5:30am was the most heavenly feeling. I love being your Mom.

First Weeks with Elliana

Our little Ellie belly as made a huge impact on our lives. Little did I realize how hard it would be to shower, brush my teeth and eat a sandwich (without spreading it over several hours). That said, we would not change a thing. We are thrilled with our little girl.

Welcome to the world Elliana Harrison

Today we welcomed Elliana "Ellie" Beth Harrison into the world. All 8 pounds, 21 inches came roaring into the world at 6:48 am after what seemed like an eternity of labor (of love). In our humble opinion, she's beautiful!

Here are some pictures that my Mother took right after she was delivered... we are so proud to welcome her to the family.
